An email message I received and I am gladly sharing.
The current conflict in the Amazon resulted in a number of casualties in the last three days and accelerated the crisis of the US-Peru Free Trade Agreement as an instrument of collusion in the genocide of the Indigenous Peoples.
A war crimes tribunal, a global climate justice tribunal, and all venues of justice to bring the systematic pograms of terracide and genocide are called to address the crisis, but immediate action on the ground is our first step.
In solidarity with the struggle of our Indigenous Peoples of the Peruvian Amazon, and in response to the call for indigenous solidarity from the IV Continental Indigenous Summit of Abya Yala, we shall organize peaceful coordinated continental actions of protest for Monday June 8th in Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA.
Please relay to all Nations and Organizations of Indigenous Peoples of Abya Yala North, along with social justice networks to realize coordination in order to take immediate direct actions of peaceful protest in front of the Peruvian Embassy in Washington, DC and the Peruvian Consulate General in Los Angeles, California on Monday June 8th.
