Eva Ayllon will perform this weekend at the University of Maryland, as part of her "Canto a Chabuca Granda" Tribute Tour presenting a repertoire composed by or dedicated to Chabuca Granda, perhaps the greatest Peruvian creole music singer and composer.
Eva Ayllon has announced in a phone interview with DC Live Music that this concert will be different, personal and intimate, and she will be accompanied by two guitarists, percussionists, a choir, and harmonica by Argentinean musician Franco Luciani as a special guest.
Chabuca Granda is one of the best singers and composers in Peru's history, she composed the most popular songs of Creole and Afro Peruvian music.
