Update: as a protest against the support of Eva Ayllon to the Fujimori-Montesinos-Garcia mafia in the 2011 Peruvian elections, and the lack of respect she recently has shown against the public of Peru, I have decided to edit and / or delete the 59 posts I created about this singer, in my blog Peruanista. It is unfortunate that a talented artist has lost her sense of humanity, justice and respect for others.

Original post:

The Peruvian Festival of New Jersey is perhaps the biggest Peruvian festival in the United States, it brings about 25,000 people to the city of Newark -an hour away from New York City- who gather to celebrate Peru's Independence Day with a live Peruvian music concert, food stands, an eating area and a children playground.
his year the producing company, Latino Network is bringing Afro Peruvian singer Eva Ayllon, Peruvian Cumbia groups Hermanos Yaipen from Monsefu, and Bareto from Lima, and other artists like Silverio Urbina and Victor Tanamachi.

This festival should be fun and I will try to make it, but I'm disappointed after seeing they have included that horrible TV character called "Chola Chabuca" which makes fun of Andean women. Also, my friends keep warning me of Peruvians in New Jersey, they have a reputation of being malcriados. I might like that.
Now, here is my dilemma: I want to attend this NJ festival, but in the same day we have the Peruvian Festival in VA. Although both festivals have included TV characters that I find to be offensive and racists like Tongo and Chola Chabuca.
Maybe I should stay home? hmmm... I can smell the Peruvian food already. Darn.

Don't go, you will not feel very comfortable...save yourself from the unwashed masses.
