These photos were taken today by Ben Bowless, a friend who is in Bagua doing field work with Indigenous peoples affected by the violence of the attacks of June 5, 2009.
These are the faces of the trauma that violence leaves behind, sometimes permanently. This is what the Garcia administration has caused to our peoples in Peru. Notice that all Peruvian soldiers are also Indigenous youth, they are making our peoples fight with each other to protect their common oppresor. I am more than disgusted, I feel the pain, I don't want this to continue happening.

Please take action. Contact your Congress member today, contact Presidente Barack Obama and Secretary Hillary Clinton today: ask them to stop the Peru FTA implementation until Indigenous peoples rights are fully repected and acknowledged by the Garcia administration.
